The following song, "Enola," is from the 1997 P-Model album Electronic Tragedy/~ENOLA. Interestingly, Hirasawa used this song over 10 years later in his interactive concert for "Planet Roll Call," where the audience got to choose the direction the concert/story will go. This particular concert told the story of spacetraveler Astro-Hue, who is trapped on a planet where he finds a message from his long lost brother, Astro-Ho. "Enola" was apparently played during the last day of the concert during a scene where Astro-Hue sees some of his own memories from three months before, leading some to re-interpret the song as saying that the real "Electronic Tragedy" here is the fact that human memories are nothing more than bio-electric signals or part of an organic network structure. How you might connect the song to the Enola Gay of atomic bombing infamy is another story.

P-Model - "Enola"

Ai Yai Yai
Call
Ai Yai Yai

Ai Yai Yai
Ai Yai Yai

Ai Yai Yai
Ai Yai Yai

P-Model - "Enola"

I heard it on a cassette I had packed in my rocket
The tragic song of a far, faraway star Ai, yai, yai
Pocket PC plugged into the socket
I call to the freezing planet, "How is it?"
Ai, yai, yai

The tragedy of the distant star clouds the recesses of my heart

Stock medicine   A minuscule budget
What's the cause of all these enigmatic diseases? Ai, yai, yai
The disciple of Krishna* who fell for the trick
Cries out from far, far away: "It won't be found!"
Ai, yai, yai

Hang your head in the corners of the cosmos,** you, our offshoot

Ah, tonight I'll become you  Let my body sing
Ah, if you would remember  Ah, overtaking the stars

On a flat hill, a blue and sorrowful wind
Blows through and through the collar of my jacket Ai, yai, yai
Bucket tears, the moisture of droplets
A mysterious*** love revolves through space, through space Ai, yai, yai

May it reach your heart, this song we sing with all our might

Ah, tonight I'll become you  Let my body sing
Ah, if you would remember  Ah, overtaking the stars

Ah, tonight I'll become you  Let my body sing
Ah, if you would remember  Ah, living through two stars**

Notes:

* If you recall, the so-called father of the atomic bomb, Oppenheimer, famously quoted the words of Krishna from the Bahgavad Gita as "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." Depending on the translation, though, that line apparently can be read as "I am all-powerful Time which destroys all things." A bit of debate still rages as to the proper translation. Either way, Krishna makes clear that he will kill all eventually.

** "Cosmos" -- the kanji say "outer space" but what he actually sings is "sky."

*** "Mysterious" in the sense of a "sacred mystery."

*** Or living through/on two worlds? Could it mean living in two parallel worlds? Or is it more about how we can be (mentally or emotionally) in more than one place or time simultaneously, like how we live in the past and the present, which are essentially two separate worlds but both real to us. I don't know.
